Overview

MyChurchPal (“we,” “us,” or “our”) helps people find churches and connect with others who are checked in or planning to attend. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account information: email address, password (stored securely), display name, and profile details you choose to provide (photos, bio, interests, date of birth).
• Location: approximate or precise location when you use nearby church discovery or check in, so we can verify you are near a church.
• Activity: check-ins, service plans (“I’m going”), favorites, waves, friend connections, church group messages, direct messages, and similar in-app actions.
• Device & usage: basic technical data such as browser type, app version, and diagnostic logs needed to operate and secure the service.

How we use information

• Provide and improve core features (discovery, check-in, church groups, messaging, schedules, favorites).
• Show relevant people and churches near you, and apply age-appropriate groupings where enabled.
• Keep the community safe through moderation, abuse prevention, and account security.
• Communicate with you about the service (security alerts, support replies, important updates).

Sharing

Profile and check-in information you make visible may be shown to other users at the same church or who interact with you in the app. We do not sell your personal information.

We may share data with service providers who help us host, authenticate, store media, or analyze reliability—only as needed to run MyChurchPal. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect users’ safety and rights.

Children & age

MyChurchPal is intended for users age 8 and older. Users under 13 must provide a parent or guardian email and consent before using the service. Churches may configure age groups so people connect within appropriate ranges. We use age information to place people safely and to support reporting tools. If you believe a child under 8 has created an account, or that parental consent was given incorrectly, contact us and we will take appropriate action.

Retention & security

We retain information while your account is active and as needed for legitimate business, legal, and safety purposes. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Your choices

• Edit or hide profile details in Settings.
• Leave a check-in or cancel a service plan at any time.
• Request account deletion or data access by emailing support@mychurchpal.com.
• Disable location access in your device settings (some features will not work).

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version in the app and revise the effective date above.
